Last year when I was online scouting locations to shoot bridal and engagement portraits in Little Rock for the BFF, I discovered that a Chihuly exhibit was coming to the Clinton Presidential Museum over the summer & fall. I couldn’t work the grounds of the Clinton Museum into the bridal portraits last August, so I made plans to arrive in Little Rock early on the day before the BFF’s wedding in October so that I could go see the exhibit. I’ve actually split the images up into two posts, so there’ll be a few more next Wednesday …

I loved how they made this indoor exhibit that was in a room just around the corner from Clinton’s presidential limo look like a reflecting pool with the dark glass. I walked around all four sides and took a lot of DSLR and smartphone photos.  In fact, a guy visiting the School of Public Service next door (from another university) came in right as I was heading upstairs to the rest of the exhibit and stated he was jealous that I had a DSLR with me; he didn’t think about packing his DSLR for the visit and was kicking himself for only being able to take smartphone photos!

clintonmuseum-chihuly-exhibit3I am always amazed at what works of art can be created through the art of glassblowing. This is actually the second Chihuly exhibit I’ve been to … one of these days I’ll get around to finishing the edits on the other one to share here on Route Bliss …

clintonmuseum-chihuly-exhibit4This ‘tree’ is actually a permanent exhibit at the Clinton Museum … I just wish I had a fraction of Chihuly’s talent.

Have you seen any of Chihuly’s work in person? Would you consider glassblowing as a hobby if it were within your means?
